Steve Purdy      

Steve Purdy is a multi-media automotive journalist – writer, photographer and producer - with projects on the Web, in film, radio, print and photography. He has been photographing car shows (everything from Concours d’Elegance to the local cruises) for just over 30 years, often being drawn to the details of old cars, like badges and hood ornaments. His images of hood ornaments in particular have been featured in a variety of galleries. He currently has a one-man show in the new gallery space at the Automotive Hall of Fame in Dearborn, MI. His writing and photography have appeared in many collector car magazines.

About Detroit Knows Cars

The Detroit Knows Cars exhibit illustrates the many different approaches to portraying the aesthetics, beauty, and significance of automobiles.  The exhibit includes painting, photography, and sculpture - all confirming the notion that the automobile is an appropriate subject of fine art.

Event Details

Detroit Knows Cars will be on display January 7, 2012 through January 28, 2012 from 8 AM - 6 PM in the lobby of the Chase Tower Building, and is free and open to the public.
